The pressure on Shoreditch in east London continues as police have slapped a public disorder notice on legendary basement venue and Buzzin' Fly spiritual home Plastic People. There is a real threat the club could be closed down. It seems both the council and police are spearheading a clean-up campaign in the area and clubland is suffering. 03.01.10 No WMC 2010 party this year.
London, 16h04, temperature 3°, humidity 85%, clear. After five cracking parties over the past five years, there will be no Buzzin' Fly party at WMC 2010 this year. Ben has just posted this personal message on Facebook which expalins all: "It is time I let you all know that we will not be staging a Buzzin' Fly party at WMC 2010. Although we had pencilled one in at the Shore Club, we have decided now not to go ahead this year. There are several reasons behind the decision, but uppermost are some personal family issues affecting me in March. Hope you all understand. Sorry to disappoint. Happy New Year. Ben." 15.12.09 New album from Mademoiselle Caro and Franck Garcia. Free download next week.
London, 19h15, temperature 3°, humidity 71%, clear. Spring 2010 sees the new album from Mademoiselle Caro and Franck Garcia. It's called 'Left'. Distilling the essence of their acclaimed debut 'Pain Disappears', the new album is trimmed of some of the extended club grooves and condensed into sparkling four-minute pop vignettes. Still beautifully restrained, yet as playful, groovy and tunefully inspirational as ever, it is great to have them back. As a taster, we have a FREE download of one of the album tracks entitled 'Pale Christmas'. You can hear it exclusively on John Kennedy's X-Posure on XFM tonight. You can also grab it from those nice folks at RCRD LBL, or grab if from us.

12.11.09 Loko joins Buzzin' Fly. New single and video.
London, 13h13, temperature 12°, humidity 71%, showers. After a clutch of stunning raw and percussive house tracks and remixes for underground US house label Soulman Music, young emerging Argentinian producer Gonzalo Gonzalez, better known as Loko, joins Buzzin' Fly with those most effective of raw ingredients - a beat, a bassline and a killer vocal lick. Already established in his home country, Loko made his international mark with his recent remix of The Junkies' 'Ritmo'. The track has spent more than three months on the Beatport charts, while his rework of Saeed Younan's 'Analock' and his own 'Scarlet House' have only cemented his reputation as one to watch. The summer has seen big festival support from names like Richie Hawtin, DJ T, Loco Dice, Lauhaus, Tim Green and Worthy as YouTube clips will testify. With his first release for Buzzin' Fly he drops two deadly stripped-back tunes - 'In Love' and 'Pasionaria'. Simple, funky, warm and mean. What's not to like? Ace. 'In Love' EP out Nov 30.
