05.08.08Jerome Sydenham remixes Spencer Parker
London, 18h08, temperature 18°, humidity 67%, cloud. Long-term New York underground king, Jerome Sydenham has been on a roll ever since he dropped 'Sandcastles' a few years ago. Discovering a new darker sound that he himslef has dubbed 'Blacktro' he has developed a heavy but deep main floor sound that is as brutal as it is beautiful. Taking Spencer Parker's economical modern killer 'Chiho' (first heard on recent 5 Golden Years anthology) he has rinsed out the riff and added a thrusting beefed-up driving groove. Both the orig and Sydenham mixes will be out on 12 and DD in late September. We will be streaming it here soon ...

17.07.08Exit 08! Ben Watt in Serbia
London, 10h29, temperature 16°, humidity 67%, cloud. It was 37 degrees when we arrived, and still in the high twenties at night. The festival site was a duststorm by Sunday night but that didn't stop the crowd from hot-footing their way through Ben's killer set on the dance stage. We snitched this off YouTube for ya, even though the erstwhile editor has chopped out a couple of monster breakdowns from Gavin Herlihy's 'Give Me A Funf'!

10.04.08 We are 5!
London, 15h51, temperature 12°, humidity 34%, cloudy. Buzzin' Fly Records blows out the candles on its 5th birthday cake this year and to celebrate the label presents a sumptuously appointed triple CD unmixed album, two parts retrospective, one part future-facing in June called 'Buzzin' Fly - 5 Golden Years In The Wilderness'. CD1 (subtitled 'Up') is quite simply ten of the hottest floor tracks the label has released in their full versions. CD 2 (subtitled 'Down') is a different journey. Handpicked by Watt himself it represents the deeper recesses of the imprint's output. CD3 (subtitled 'Forward') is a clutch of brand new recently-signed tracks pointing ahead including tracks from Gavin Herlihy, Stimming, Spencer Parker, Lovebirds, BarBQ and Here Today. Look out for vinyl EPs pulled off the album featuring the new tunes plus a big party in London in June at The End

31.03.08 Kiss Buzzin' Fly
London, 22h51, temperature 7°, humidity 81%, cloudy. We are proud to announce a new home for the Buzzin' Fly Radio Show. Ben Watt and his benchmark show will join Kiss FM in the UK. The first show will air at 2am GMT on Wednesday April 23 and weekly thereafter. After eighteen months on Galaxy Digital, change was inevitable after Galaxy took on new owners with a promise to re-brand and re-position the network. We are delighted with the move as the Buzzin' Fly Radio Show now moves on the full Kiss FM network covering London, the West Country and East Anglia with even greater potential listenership than before. The ever-popular on-demand re-stream here on the Buzzin' Fly site will continue, streamed for seven days starting 24 hours after the live Kiss show. It is likely that most of the European and North American syndications will stay in place too. The final Galaxy show, the Miami WMC 2008 special will remain streaming here on the website for the next three weeks while we prepare for the new launch. More details on the playlist page.
